Earlswood lower lake has been around for over a hundred years and has had many purposes over its lifetime from a simple public bathing lake complete with diving board, to testing tanks during WW2.

In recent years it has benefited from much TLC at the hands of several dedicated members of HPS.  The aim here is to provide family friendly fishing in a safe environment for all locals to enjoy.  The fishing is challenging but the rewards can be unforgettable.  There are few public access venues in Surrey which offer you a realistic chance of catching a double figure bream.  Alongside this the Tench and Carp fishing is noted amongst regular enthusiasts.  There are a good head of silvers in this venue but it is something we are striving to improve through habitat conservation work.  It is our hope that one day this increasingly popular lake can provide an enviable standard of mixed coarse fishing.

For silvers, you really must fine tune your tackle with small hooks and line in the lower breaking strains.  Maggots are a must have bait here although other baits will catch under the right conditions.  For specimen sized fish, many baits will work including pellets and boilies, however baits such as worms and corn can bring bites at times when more modern tactics struggle.

The lake produces all year round but it can be seasonal with Tench more prolific in Spring and the Pike becoming Winters target species.

Rules are displayed on the notice board near the car park and also in your club permit.  The venue is used by a ast majority of the local community.  Please do not leave rods unattended and consider the wildfowl and dog walkers when angling.

There is a fantastic Cafe onsite where James and his team will welcome you for both Breakfast and/or Lunch.
