River Mole – Church Meadows to Court Lodge Playing Fields

Location

From Longbridge roundabout to the Weir at Lee street / Mill lane.

Fishing from the Eastern bank only.

Description

This stretch starts just downstream of the confluence at Longbridge opposite the Texaco garage.

The first stretch arches round the perimeter of church meadows.  The river is accessible at several points here but the banks can be steep and at times treachorous.  Overlooking the meadow is St Bartholomew church, and next to the church is Ye Olde Six Bells.  The pub has served local Anglers for centuries and is well worth a visit at lunchtime with a variety of local Ales and good quality food on offer.  Moving further downstream, you will find Court Lodge playing fields.  The river here is shallow for much of its length but if you locate the deeper runs good catches can be had of all the usual suspects.  Both a roving and static approach will work here with all the traditional baits doing well.

You may even encounter the odd nomadic Carp along this stretch.  Staying on the east bank you will eventually arrive at the weir, marking the end of this underused stretch.

Please note there is strictly no fishing in the weir pool or below the weir as this is private land.  Traditional close season applies.
